Robert M. Gordon, President Loudoun Commercial Title, L.L.C.

Bob Gordon is an attorney with 25 years experience in business, finance, and commercial transactions of all kinds.

Bob attended Georgetown University Law School and received a law degree (JD) and a Master's Degree in Foreign Service. He served on the Editorial Board of the Georgetown Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Bob served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Thomas A. Flannery, United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

In 1979 Bob began his tenure as an associate and partner at the law firm of Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge (now known as Shaw Pittman). During his 20 years as a business lawyer at Shaw Pittman, Bob concentrated on transactional real estate, finance, and land use matters, representing a wide range of real estate investors and lenders. In connection with his law practice, Bob structured and closed hundreds of real estate transactions of all kinds, from simple house closings and refinances to highly complex commercial transactions. Over the years, Bob Gordon has developed a reputation for energy, expertise, and attention to detail, as well as the highest integrity.

In 1990 Bob and Edward Finnegan opened a law office for Shaw Pittman in Leesburg. After the untimely death of Mr. Finnegan in 1993, Bob became resident partner for Shaw Pittman's Leesburg office, establishing a highly respected practice and handling a number of high profile land use projects.

Beginning in late 1999, Bob began representing the Washington Redskins, and in 2000, he became Senior Vice President and General Counsel for The Washington Redskins. He handled a wide range of business, financial, and legal issues for the Redskins. This work included trademark, intellectual property protection, sponsorship and marketing agreements, television and radio contracts, dispute resolution and litigation, workers compensation and employee matters, and NFL compliance issues, in addition to normal corporate and financial matters.

During 2003, Bob Gordon was engaged in an intense, full time political campaign for election as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Loudoun County, Virginia. Bob was successful in obtaining the Republican nomination for Chairman, but lost (by less than one percent) a hotly contested three-way general election to the incumbent. Subsequent to the election, Bob Gordon opened Loudoun Commercial Title, L.L.C.

In 2008, Bob Gordon has qualified in Loudoun County Circuit Court as an expert in real estate matters.

Bob Gordon has a well-rounded reputation as a community leader. Bob has served Loudoun County in numerous ways, including the following:

• Virginia Department of Transportation Advisory Board for Highway Standards in Scenic and Historic Areas (1993)

• Woods Road Special Exception Review Committee (1995-96)
• Member, Loudoun County Economic Development Commission (2000-2005)
• Chairman, EDC Marketing and Business Retention Committee (2000-2005)
• Member and Vice Chairman, Goose Creek Scenic River Advisory Board (1989-1992)
• Pro Bono Legal Counsel, The Hill School, Middleburg, Virginia (1990-2000)
• Board of Directors, The Hill School, Middleburg, Virginia (1998-2005)
• Board of Directors, The Ebenezer Cemetery Company (1998-1999)
• Chairman, Loudoun County Zoning Ordinance Review Committee (2005-2006)

Bob is investor/ part owner of the Ashburn Ice House in Ashburn, Virginia. Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors of Tompkins Builders, Inc., a national and highly regarded construction company headquartered in Washington, D.C.
